Amethyst

Amethyst explores the depth and intensity of violet through a structure inspired by the interior of an amethyst geode.

The composition is built around a dense, luminous core, where layered acrylic pigments form a crystalline relief. Subtle variations of purple — from deep mineral violet to lighter crystalline tones — create a sense of inner tension, as if light were trapped beneath the surface.

Selective gloss and resin are concentrated toward the center, reinforcing the impression of crystallization and depth, while the surrounding areas remain more restrained, almost mineral-matte. This contrast guides the eye inward, echoing the way an amethyst reveals itself when fractured.

The result is a piece that feels both contained and radiant, balancing weight and luminosity, opacity and reflection.
